Change Name Servers / DNS

Host Domain

• Login to Domain Registrar
• Search the domain you are after in top right corner
• Scroll down to Name Servers and click Modify on the right side of the current name servers
• Type in the new name servers, replacing the current two
• Click Add Name Server if more are needed
• Make sure the IP Address comes up (do so by clicking off the "Host Name" box)
• Click Save

Do Not Host Domain

• Send an email to the client asking to change the name servers to either:
  • ns1.web-server-01.com (server 1)
  • ns2.web-server-01.com
  • ns1.web-server-02.com (server 2)
  • ns2.web-server-02.com

Change DNS Records

If we do not host emails, change the A record on the domain to point to our server.
