Post-Live Setup

 

Add Favicon

  • Get an image, usually around 32x32px or 64x64px, that you would like as an icon
  • Rename it to 'favicon'
  • Go to http://convertico.com/
  • Click "Browse" and select the image
  • Click "GO"
  • Download the file that has popped up next to the browse section
  • Copy that file and paste in the root folder of the website on the server

 

Create the XML Site Map and Submit to Search Engines

  • Login to Administration on the website
  • Go to Content Management > Output Site Map to File (this will generate an XML Site Map and outputs it to a file called [domain]-sitemap.xml into the root folder on the server)
  • Now go to Content Management > View Site Map
  • Check that each URL is correct and there are no unwanted URLs (e.g. http://www.[domain].com.au/Default.aspx?PageType=MethodView&Method=UserArea)
  • Finally, go to Content Management > Submit Site Map to Search Engines to finish

 

Add Website to Google Search Console

  • Login to Inology's Google account
  • Go to Google Search Console
  • Click the Search bar, then click "+ Add property"
  • Under "URL Prefix" add the domain (e.g. https://www.example.com.au/)
  • Click "Continue", then "Verify" on the next page
    • If a verification error shows up, check the Google Verification File is in the domain's root folder
